Shirahama aquarium, Kyoto University, (http://www.seto.kais.kyoto-u.ac.jp/aquarium/)
is doing an experiment to investigate how the sea creature is effected by the seawater acidification which occurs by means of the atmospheric higher CO2 concentration, by comparing creatures grown in “the seawater of “the present CO2 concentration" or "the future CO2 concentration"” which is controlled automatically.

US-EPA takes particular note of PM10-2.5 (difference between PM10 and PM2.5) as a standard PM to replace PM10. The PM examinations (Air Marathon) had done various sites in the USA which have different composition of PM each other with moving the motor home since March, 2003. The ambient air / seawater CO2 monitoring at Pacific Ocean was started by NIES in 1955. For this project, the automatic continuous measuring system is installed in some commercial big vessel , and we are doing our effort to develop and improve these devices and total system. 2 vessels of the Japan -North America line and 1 vessel of the Japan-Australia line are doing the ambient air / seawater monitoring now..
